One of the earliest confessions Christians held to was the Apostles' Creed. It has since become the bedrock for God's people throughout space and time, and something to bring unity in the midst of diversity. Because of this, we recognize at Christ City Church the need to be more grounded and stand on the shoulders of those who've come before us over the last 2,000 years, and to find the common ground of what We Believe as we look at the foundational pieces that make up God's church eternal.

God The Father

2 Corinthians 1:2-10

One of the earliest confessions Christians held to was the Apostle's Creed. It has since become the bedrock for God's people throughout space and time, and something to bring unity in the midst of diversity. Join us as we begin to look at each part of the creed within scripture and what it means for us today.

God The Creator

Hebrews 11:1-3

"Was the earth created in six days, or has it evolved over millions of years? Was there a literal Adam and Eve, or were they simply symbolic in the creation narrative? These are questions and discussions many of us run to when we think about God creating the world. But what if we're missing the point? In this sermon, we continue our discussion of the apostles Creed by looking at God the Creator."

Jesus Is Lord

 Colossians 1:15-23

When the early church proclaimed, "Jesus is Lord," there was a different and all consuming world-view that accompanied that phrase. Unfortunately, for many of us, there's a disconnect we have in relating to the gravitas of those three words. Listen in as explore the Lordship of Jesus and how far it reaches into our lives and our world.

Jesus Is God

John 8:53-59

In the past 2,000 years the identity of one man has been contested more than any other. Who was Jesus of Nazareth really? Was he a prophet? A teacher? A lunatic? A pathological liar? A blasphemer? Or was he what he claimed to be- God's very son. The cornerstone of the church is built on the belief that Jesus is God's son and that all the fullness of God dwells in him. Join us as we explore and wrestle with who Jesus claimed to be and the importance of how we choose to respond.

Jesus Is Human

Philippians 2:1-11

The Incarnation is one of the central mysteries in human history. The extent of the Incarnation in Jesus' sufferings is astounding. Join us as we reflect on this mystery and discover much-needed comfort for our day and also challenge on what it means to live as a people formed and shaped by Jesus.

Christ Descended and Ascended

Ephesians 4:1-16

For centuries Christ's ascension to heaven has been celebrated but not his descent into hell. It's a portion of scripture that is largely ignored, minimized or overlooked, yet Paul believes it plays a huge role in understanding unity and how to love one another. Join us as we explore this and more, as we continue series on the Apostles' Creed.

The Holy Spirit

Acts 1:9-13, 2:1-12

For many, the Holy Spirit is the part of the Trinity we either scoff at or try to exploit; for the rest, simply a part of the Trinity not worth learning more about. Yet, the Bible teaches this person of the Trinity plays the most pivotal role in our lives in regards to growing and living an impactful life. Listen in as we explore the role of the Spirit in our lives.

The Trinity

Genesis 1:13, John 1:1-3

Today is Trinity Sunday, and we're continuing through our series in the Apostles' Creed. Over the last few weeks we've looked at God as Creator and our Father, at Jesus as our Lord and both fully divine and fully human, and at the Holy Spirit empowering and comforting and convicting followers of Jesus. Three Persons, yet one God.

The Church

 1 Peter 2:4-12

"What is the Church?" Being in the South, we all have perspectives and opinions we've formed through our experiences in church. For may of us, those experiences have been negative, at worst, or indifferent, at best. But regardless of what we think, the scriptures tell us the Church is God's "treasured people" and a "prized possession." So, "what is the Church?" and "what does it mean to be the Church?" Join us as we explore this and more.

New Heaven & New Earth

Revelation 21:1-5

There's a lot of confusion about the end-times and what happens when you die. Unlike the stories we find in best-selling novels, what we encounter in the Bible isn't a story of God destroying the world and snatching a few people away to spend all of eternity playing harps on clouds in the sky. Instead, the story we find in the Bible is rich and deep and compelling. And it can change the way you live now. Listen in to find new hope, purpose, and passion for your life right now.

You Have to Go Through It

Psalm 42

Life is filled with hard times. No matter how much we don't want to admit it, that's true. Our tendencies become trying to get around these moments in life, but the only way is through them. Listen in as we consider what it means to face life on life's terms.
