Serving

Use your time and talents to serve others

There are numerous opportunities to serve at Christ City, particularly on Sunday mornings. Serving not only helps meet real needs but is also a great way to find new friends.

Soup Kitchen & Clothes Closet

From April through October, Christ City operates a weekly soup kitchen for neighbors who need a hot meal. We need at least three adult volunteers each Tuesday during these months from 5:00-7:00 pm (doors open at 5:30pm) to help with set-up, serving, and clean up. Children are welcome in addition to the three adults. Email ben@christcitymemphis.org to reserve your individual or group slot. Consider signing up for a monthly slot!

We also collecting summer clothing, blankets, sleeping mats, and books to give to those without these resources who come for a meal. Donations can be made on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Christ City Kids

Christ City Kids is a great opportunity to begin impressing the gospel into our little ones. Serve one Sunday a month (or once every four weeks). Teachers can choose between four different age groups and implement the lesson provided by the lead teacher for the selected age group. This is a rewarding and inspiring team: CCK volunteers have regular connection opportunities outside of Sunday mornings. All CCK volunteers must complete training and meet with the CCK Director prior to serving in Christ City Kids. Fill out this form to learn more about volunteering in CCK.

Welcome Team

The Welcome Team helps create a hospitable environment on Sunday mornings so that Christ City Church is truly a place to belong. There are opportunities on Welcome Team to hand out bulletins, greet people, make coffee, and more. If you’re a friendly and welcoming person, this is the team for you! Worship Team

The Worship Team serves on stage and behind-the-scenes to make our worship services happen. There are opportunities on this team for musicians to use their gifts as well as tech-savvy folks to help with the many technical audio-visual aspects of our worship services. fill out this form to learn more about volunteering on the Worship Team.
